Checklist for Preparing for Bariatric Surgery
Taking all the appropriate steps to prepare for your weight loss surgery is important to help ensure the success of the procedure. You will be provided detailed information by the surgeon's office and the hospital to assist you in your preparation for surgery.
In preparing for your stay at the hospital, we recommend that you bring along a support person to help you with the transition. In addition, be sure to bring the following items to the hospital with you.
What to Bring to the Hospital
Important to bring with you to the hospital:
- Insurance Card
- Toiletry Items
- Shampoo
- Hairbrush
- Moisturizing cream
- Glasses
- Deodorant
- Lip balm
- Feminine hygiene products (if applicable)

- CPAP machine (if you have sleep apnea)
- Slippers
- Robe or Pajamas
- Going home outfit
- Portable music player with headphones
- Support person
- Any other item you feel will help
