General Wound Care at Alexian Wound Health Center
Our Tests, Treatments & Therapies
We customize your treatment to your specific health needs. Treatments range from simple medications to adjunctive therapies, which include:
- Bio-engineered skin substitutes to support wound closure and serve as replacement for skin and surgical grafting. A bio-engineered skin substitute closely resembles human skin in structure and function.
- Growth factor therapy manufactured through recombinant DNA technology is applied topically to stimulating cell growth and promote healing of wounds.
- Negative pressure therapy uses controlled localized negative pressure to stimulate the growth of healthy granulation tissue, which grows from the base of a wound and is the first tissue to fill in.
- Anti-Infective dressings.
- Learning ways to redistribute weight to reduce pressure on wounds that affect the foot or lower leg.
- Transcutaneous oxygen tension measurement (TCOM) testing. This is a test we conduct to determine whether there is adequate oxygen in the blood for your wound or sore to heal.
