Post-operative support group for all adjustable lap-band surgery patients. Learn about aftercare needs, including better management of emotional and behavioral issues. This is a great opportunity to meet former lap-band patients and ease the transition into a new lifestyle.

  • ANAD Eating Disorders Support Group

The Monday night group includes individuals with eating disorders, family members and friends. This group offers education about eating disorders and the recovery process.
The Thursday night group is for individuals with eating disorders. This group offers encouragement, support and hope in the recover process.

Weekly events on Wednesday's from 10-11 a.m. in the Neihoff conference room next to the Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital. Open to all persons who have aphasia as a result of their stroke.

  • Breastfeeding Education & Sharing Time (B.E.S.T.)

Consultations are available for mothers and babies requiring additional assistance with breastfeeding following discharge from the hospital. No registration required.

This group has been designed primarily for adults struggling with borderline personality disorder, depression, suicidal thoughts, and impulsive behaviors. Participation in this group will teach new coping strategies and reinforce positive coping skills while helping group members to identify unhealthy behaviors.

Center for Spiritual Care at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Interfaith Parish Support Services, Alexian Brothers Hospice and Alexian Brothers Resource Center for Seniors sponsor this grief support group. It is for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.  Learn more about grief support.
A holistic art therapy group designed to promote emotional, psychological and spiritual health and healing by teaching adults relaxation, stress reducing tips and techniques and art as therapy. Each month participants will learn a new relaxation technique and/or make a different element to add to their personal healing corner. No artistic skills necessary, just an open mind. This program is open to any adult (must be 18 or older) looking to learn relaxation and stress reducing tips and techniques. Facilitated by an art therapist from Alexian Brothers Interfaith Parish Support Services

This ongoing support group provides former cardiac patients with opportunities for recreational and educational activities, as well as support and encouragement through group sharing. Family members are welcome.

  • Northwest Suburban Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

For all those who have experienced loss through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or newborn death. Located at 25 E. Schaumburg Road, Suite 102, Schaumburg (just east of Roselle Road and Lou Malnati's Pizza). Parking is available in the rear. This group is jointly facilitated by Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Northwest Community Hospital and St. Alexius Medical Center.
This 10-week group uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to overcome anxiety and panic problems.  CBT helps individuals identify and change their anxiety-producing thoughts and self-defeating beliefs, which in turn helps decrease their anxiety and panic symptoms and increase their ability to get the most out of life.  The Overcoming Anxiety group will be held on Tuesday or Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Women have unique concerns when managing depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. This group encourages exploration of your past and current experiences and how they relate to your current growth by helping you decrease symptoms, manage anger, increase self-care, and understand the dynamics of your relationships.
