Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Team
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit team is overseen by a board-certified pediatric intensivist. Our team members also include:
- Pediatric hospitalist, on-site 24 hours every day
- Highly skilled nurses trained in pediatric critical care
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Services
Our critical care team provides a wide range of services for children. Though not limited to the following, some of the most common conditions we treat in our pediatric intensive care unit include:
- Severe asthma and respiratory distress
- Drug/alcohol overdose
- Eating disorders
- Metabolic disorder, including diabetes
- Neurologic disorders, including epilepsy
- Outpatient procedures that require sedation
- Influenza
- Sedation services
- Serious infections
- Surgery
- Trauma
We also provide pediatric occupational, speech and physical therapies, dietary supervision, pharmacy support and pain management.
In addition, our social services staff can help you and your child adjust to the challenges that some experience in the hospital environment. We offer services from Child Life Specialists, Pastoral Care staff and discharge planning staff. Each of our highly trained experts can help you cope with the stress and anxiety that you may experience while your child is being treated and help you transition back to your home environment.
