Alexian Brothers Ophthalmology Services provides comprehensive ophthalmology services including expertise in all subspecialties including consultation, diagnosis, therapeutic care and surgical procedures performed by highly experienced ophthalmologists (Eye MD's) many of which are board-certified and fellowship trained.
Cornea & Anterior Segment
Consultation in medical and surgical management of all disorders of the cornea, conjunctiva, and anterior segment of the eye. including dry eye and chronic occularirritation, intacsfor keratoconus, partial and full thickness cornea transplants (DSEK), amniotic membrane transfer, pterygiumsurgery, conjunctivoplasty, laser corneal polishing (PTK).
Glaucoma Services
Complete diagnosis and therapeutic care for the glaucoma patient including diagnostic testing and surgical therapies. Our glaucoma specialists stay abreast of the most current research and employ the most advanced technology in order to best treat our patients including:
- Screenings using Frequency Doubling Technology (FDT), the most reliable technique available for early detection of glaucoma
- Optical Coherence Therapy (OCT), an imaging technique that scans the eye and provides detailed information necessary to determine how best to handle each individual case
- Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT), a laser treatment that can help patients avoid surgery and reduce their dependence on eye drops
- Trabeculectomies, a surgical procedure that allows eye fluid to drain, thus relieving pressure and slowing the diseases progress
Laser Vision Correction
Alexian Brothers Ophthalmology Services is proud to be at the forefront of diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical vision correction services.
Services include:
- Excimer Laser Vision Correction, including Custom or Wavefront-guided PRK and LASIK for the treatment of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism
- Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) for presbyopia; a non-laser alternative to reading glasses
- Verisyse Phakic Intraocular Lens for severe myopia in patients who were not previously candidates for LASIK
- Veriflex Phakic Intraocular Lens for high myopia. Alexian Brothers Ophthalmology Services is 1 of only 8 sites in the country selected to be part of the FDA clinical trial for this exciting technology
- Multifocal and accommodating intraocular lens implants; Rezoom®, RESTOR® and Crystalens®–Allows patients undergoing refractive lens exchange or cataract surgery the ability to see near and far simultaneously

Neuro-Ophthalmology Service
Board-certified ophthalmologists specializing in visual difficulties stemming from the central nervous system including optic nerve disease. Some of the more common visual difficulties include optic neuritis, loss of peripheral vision, visual loss, double vision, eye movement disorders, thyroid eye disease, unequal pupil size and eyelid position disorders.
