John S. Ebersole, M.D.

Medical Director, IL MEG Center  

Dr. Ebersole is Professor of Neurology and Director of the Adult Epilepsy Center and Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory at the University of Chicago. He is recognized as a world authority on the use of MEG and EEG in the evaluation of patients with seizure disorders.

Dr. Ebersole has over 35 years of experience in epilepsy and EEG and 20 years of experience working with the MEG. He is the author of nearly 100 papers and book chapters on clinical neurophysiology as applied to epilepsy. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology and immediate past president of the Clinical Neurophysiology Section of the American Academy of Neurology.

Michael A. Stein, M.D.

Associate Medical Director, IL MEG Center

Dr. Stein is an Epileptologist working at both Rush University Medical Center and Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He has a graduate degree in learning disabilities and has worked with disabled children for over five years. Dr. Stein also has five years of industry experience as an electrical engineer for which he has been awarded one patent.

Susan M. Ebersole, R.EEG T.

Manager and Data Analyst, IL MEG Center 

Ms. Ebersole has twenty years of experience in EEG and MEG recording, as well as EEG and MEG analysis. She is an expert in the use of sophisticated source modeling software for both MEG and EEG. As such, she frequently serves as a software educational consultant to other institutions.

Before assuming her duties at the Illinois MEG Center, Ms. Ebersole was manager and chief technologist of the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory of Yale-New Haven Hospital, manager of the Adult Epilepsy Center at the University of Chicago, and manager of the Chicago MEG Center in Hyde Park.
