Stenting and Coiling of Internal Carotid Dissection at Interventional Neuroradiology at Alexian Brothers Neurosciences Institute

Featured Cases

Another carotid dissection. This pseudoaneurysm is seen spiraling around the true lumen of the carotid, which it compresses.
A delayed image, showing the x-ray dye is washing out of the true lumen normally but remains trapped in the false lumen.
The patient has undergone both stenting and coil embolization of the pseudoaneurysm. She has had no strokes or mini-strokes since the stent procedure.
The follow-up angiogram shows the carotid to be fully open with good flow, and the pseudoaneurysm to be completely closed (healed).
Delayed image shows no filling of the pseudoaneurysm.
