Dr. Franklin Marden Joins Stroke and Neurovascular Team
June 25, 2007 - Franklin Marden, M.D., has joined the stroke and neurovascular team at Alexian Brothers Medical Center as the second fulltime interventional neuroradiologist on staff. His appointment allows ABMC to continue to provide 24/7 stroke intervention coverage. Dr. Marden alternates neurovascular call with Tim Malisch, M.D., Director of Interventional Neuroradiology. The duo provides cutting-edge endovascular interventions for cerebrovascular disorders, making this advanced care available in the northwest suburbs. These procedures include angioplasty and stenting, aneurysm treatment, treatments for arteriovenous malformations and acute stroke rescue.
Dr. Marden received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also completed a clinical fellowship in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory with a focus on neuropathology. He completed two residencies at Washington University in St. Louis–a neurology residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and a diagnostic radiology residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. He also completed a two-year fellowship in interventional neuroradiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is board-certified in general neurology, radiology and vascular neurology.
