Dr. Deemy Rekkas completed her residency training in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from the University of Florida (Gainesville) in 2004. She is double boarded in General and Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery and has been associated with the Alexian Brothers Health System since the completion of her training. Since that time she has specialized in Video Assist Thoracoscopic (VAT’s) procedures focusing on the Wolf Mini-maze procedures.

Electrophysiologist

Dr. Hemal Nayak, Medical Director of Electrophysiology at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, is a heart rhythm specialist and board-certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and his Cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.He completed his fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1999.
