Alexian Brothers Hospital Network is one of only five MammaCare® training centers in the U.S. and offers training and certification for healthcare professionals in the following areas:
Clinical Breast Examiner (CBE) Training and Certification
The Certified MammaCare® Clinical Breast Examiner training course teaches clinicians how to conduct proficient MammaCare® CBE. Trainees develop the skill to detect small simulated lesions and to meet performance criteria measured on a standardized series of breast models and on breast tissue. Competence is measured in terms of examination sensitivity, specificity, and thoroughness of CBE. The course is conducted in two days.
Breast Self-Examination (BSE) Instructor Training and Certification
The Certified MammaCare®BSE Instructor course teaches health care professionals to perform and teach proficient MammaCare® BSE. This skill-based program contains a series of didactic, practical examination and teaching sessions. The course is conducted in two days.
Specialist Training and Certification
The Certified MammaCare® Specialist training program is the core of professional training in MammaCare®. The course teaches women's health care professionals skill-based breast examination skills. Graduates are certified to perform MammaCare® clinical breast examination (CBE), to teach MammaCare® CBE to other professionals, and to train women to conduct MammaCare® Breast Self-Examination (BSE). The course is conducted in three days.
