Improved Quality of Life
The Vestibular and Balance Assessment services are provided by a licensed Physical Therapist with specialized training in Vestibular Rehabilitation. The goal of the program is to minimize the symptoms associated with vestibular disorders and maximize the client's safety and function in his/her daily life. Our clients benefit from a comprehensive evaluation and individualized treatment programs in a supportive outpatient environment.
Evaluation
- The client could have diagnoses that include, but are not limited to: Vertigo, BPPV, Dizziness, Meniere's disease, Central Vestibular Disorder, Cerebellar Disorders, etc.
- The Physical Therapist will identify the client's goals and develop an individualized treatment program. The plan and goals are derived from information gained through the client interview and from the therapist's testing.
- Evaluation may also include assessment of somatosensory and visual input. If necessary, the client may also undergo computerized testing on the NeuroCom Balance Master. ®
- In order to facilitate communication, initial and periodic treatment plans will be sent to the referring physician.
Treatment
Instruction and training is based on the client's goals. Treatment may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Gaze stabilization
- Canalith repositioning techniques
- Postural control and balance training
- Gait training
- General conditioning
- Education regarding causes of symptoms and symptom management

Easy Referral Process
- Fast and Easy referral Process
- A prescription from a physician, dentist, chiropractor, or physician assistant is required. The prescription should state "Physical Therapy for Vestibular Rehabilitation Evaluation and Treatment".
- Visits will be billed as outpatient physical therapy. The therapy is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and any insurance plan that covers outpatient therapy.
- Clients are scheduled for therapy based on the determination of need by the physical therapist as well as recommendation by the referring physician.
- Duration of treatment is dependent on client progress toward goals set at the initial evaluation as well as response to treatment.
- Regular communication between the physical therapist and the physician will allow for improved care management.
