Driver Rehabilitation Program at Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital
About Us
Transportation can be one of the most challenging aspects of living with a disability. Whether it is a trip to the grocery store or doctor's appointment, the simple task of driving yourself from one place to another is not possible for individuals with a driving disability.
For most people over the age of 16, driving is an important daily activity that facilitates independence and provides a sense of self-confidence. Yet, as people age, or as the result of disease or injury, there is an increased likelihood that they will experience changes in vision, memory, and other physical and cognitive characteristics that may challenge their ability to drive safely.
Our Driver Rehabilitation Program directly addresses this need. We offer clinical evaluation and behind-the-wheel assessments to determine your driving potential and occupational therapy treatment to help you make adjustments and develop the skills you need to drive safely.
