Take a Harper College Class at Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health!

We are partnering with Harper College to offer college-level classes at Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health for your convenience.

Course:  Orientation 101

This one-credit-hour course focuses on helping new students clarify reasons for being in college and providing initial exposure to the strategies necessary to adapt to the college environment. The course will cover:

  • Introduction and referral to college programs, policies and procedures, campus facilities and services
  • Individual advising including course selection for future classes
  • Preliminary career and educational planning
  • Examining the value of a college education
  • Adjusting to the college environment
  • Relationships:  Old and New
  • Certificates and degrees
  • Wellness and healthy lifestyles
  • Awareness of diversity among generations and cultures
  • Support provided through Access and Disabilities Services

Where:

Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health; 3350 Salt Creek Lane; Suite 114 in Arlington Heights.

When:

The course will be offered from 4 p.m. to  6 p.m. one night per week (day of the week to be determined) for 8 weeks.
