Our Tests, Treatments, and Therapies

Women's Program

This new and specially designed program takes a holistic therapeutic approach to helping adult women recover and offers:

  • Psychiatric evaluation and consultation
  • Medication monitoring, management, and education
  • Case management, which offers support on-site and in-home and provides linkage to needed community services
  • Spiritual counseling
  • Parenting assessments and coaching
  • Specialized therapy created to meet the specific needs of women
    • Counseling and support for life changes such as divorce, marriage, adoption, infertility, or loss
    • Counseling and support for domestic violence, sexual abuse, or trauma
    • Medication and counseling for psychiatric disorders including depression anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, eating disorders, schizophrenia, and personality disorders
    • Counseling and medication management for premenstrual syndrome, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, menopause and other hormonal events impacting mental health
    • Medication management during pregnancy
    • Medication monitoring and counseling during breastfeeding
    • Prevention strategies and counseling for postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis
    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group for any women who are interested in learning ways to better manage life stressors, symptoms, and interpersonal relationships.

Post-Partum Clinic

Alexian Center for Mental Health's postpartum clinic was developed by one of our psychiatrists and is specifically designed to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, individual and group therapy, for women who:

  • Currently show signs of depression during pregnancy
  • Have a high risk for developing post-partum depression due to a family history of depression
  • Are pregnant and have a previous history of depression

The post-partum clinic meets every Wednesday evening.
