Advocates for Mental Health

Who We Are:

We are a committee run by consumers of mental health services in Arlington Heights, Illinois at Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health.

Mission:

Our mission is to utilize all available resources to advocate for mental health, to improve the welfare of clients and act on their behalf and advise government representatives and service suppliers of ways they can better serve the mentally ill.

Advocacy:

Advocacy efforts will be directed towards ensuring the introduction and passage of strong state and federal mental health laws that combat the stigma and discrimination so often directed toward the mentally ill. We will encourage the government to make such acts a top priority year after year.

Advisory:

In our advisory capacity, we will actively work to discover, communicate, and ultimately fulfill the desires and needs of clients by working with government and other mental health decision makers.
