Why Choose ABMC?
People join our volunteer staff because they enjoy caring for and helping others, are interested in health care, or are looking for ways to give back to the community by donating their time. All volunteers receive a food voucher for use in the cafeteria, free parking and flu shots, invitations to special hospital events, and are acknowledged at volunteer recognition events.
- Alexian Brothers Medical Center works with certain local area high schools to offer a 40-hour, full-semester Student Program. Volunteer hours count towards graduation requirements for high school seniors. Contact us to see if your school is a part of this program.

High school and college students can gain exposure to the health care profession before committing to a college major or career path by participating in our physician shadowing opportunities. In this program, students are paired with a physician whose discipline might be cardiology, obstetrics, family practice, and internal medicine, amongst others. Students are able to shadow a physician for a 1-day experience, where you get to peek behind the curtain and see what a day in the life of a physician looks like. Requirements: minimum of 3 months of service prior to applying for this program.
