Requirements
Here is a summary of
the requirements and timeline it takes to become a volunteer:

Minimum age of 15
years old at time of application
- Able and willing to
dedicate 3-4 hours of service one day a week, for a minimum of 40 hours. Additional shifts can be added
after 3 months of service.

Daily shifts are
typically: 8 a.m.-12 p.m., 12-4 p.m. or 4-8 p.m.; however, the times may vary
depending on the department’s needs
- Must accrue a minimum
of 40 hours of volunteer time before being eligible to request written proof of
volunteering for any reason, including but not limited to court ordered service
and school program requirements

Adhere to Volunteer
uniform and dress code policy

Attend information
session.

Complete Application;
a link to an online application will be provided at the Information Session

Complete Interview
with staff member

Take ID Badge
picture, can usually be done same day as interview
- Complete Health
Requirements
- If 18 years of age or
older, pass a criminal background check
- All
Volunteers:
- TB Test
- Lab Test to check for
immunity to Rubella (everyone) and Rubeola (only if born 1957 or after) or
acceptable proof of 2 MMR vaccinations
- Additional Testing
for Hospice visitors and Compassionate Companions:
- 2nd TB
Test
- Hepatitis-B: either a
Lab Test if previously immunized, agree to immunization or sign a declination
form
- All health testing is
free of charge as long as performed at Employee Health (TB) and Outpatient Lab
(Labs)
- Attend orientation,
which will be 6 weeks after the Information Session you attend
- Purchase uniform polo
shirt, jacket or vest for a nominal fee; cash or check made out to ABMC
only.
- Complete on-the-job
training in your assigned department once you start
