Alexian Brothers Hospital Network Named Recipient of the 2009 Gallup Great Workplace Award

March 5, 2009, Arlington Heights, IL -- The Gallup Organization has awarded the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network one of its highest honors - the Gallup Great Workplace Award. The Alexian Brothers Hospital Network is among only 20 organizations worldwide to receive the 2009 award, which is based on the most rigorous workplace research ever conducted.

A panel of workplace experts evaluated the award-winning organizations. “The winners of this award have established a new global standard for engaging people,” said Tom Rath, who leads Gallup ’s Workplace and Leadership Consulting practice. “When compared to the millions of workgroups we have studied around the world, the awardees have worked tirelessly to create an environment that values people. They go far beyond trivial perks to ensure that each employee has an emotional connection to the company’s mission and growth.”

The Gallup Great Workplace Award recognizes the best-performing workforces in the world. Applicants’ results are compared across a workplace research database composed of millions of work teams in more than 100 countries. A panel of workplace experts assesses the applicants’ results to select the winners. The award was presented to the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network at a gala on April 29, 2009, in Omaha, Nebraska .
