Partial Day Hospital Program & Intensive Outpatient Hospital Program at the Center for Eating Disorders
Program Philosophy
The partial day and intensive outpatient hospital program is a group-based, skills-based program.
Treatment Approach
The outpatient treatment programs use the Self-Regulation Model. Whether patients are engaging in eating disorder or another form of self-destructive behavior, the program emphasizes not the specific behavior itself, but the function of the behavior. Therefore, treatment and the recovery process involve much more than just learning how to eat appropriately. Through various skills groups and therapeutic activities, our treatment program instructs patients how to recognize eating disorders and/or self-destructive patterns. The goal is for patients to identify and use alternative coping skills to interrupt unhealthy patterns.
Patients will participate in developing an individualized treatment plan to meet their unique needs. A multi-disciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, physicians, nurses, social workers, dieticians, case managers, expressive therapists, chaplains, and mental health counselors are active in providing collaborative treatment to the patients.
