Child Partial Hospital Program at the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital
Children have unique ways of coping with problems and stress in their lives. That's why it takes specially trained professionals to effectively address the developmental needs of children. The Child Partial Hospital Program at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital is dedicated to helping children between ages 6 and 12 improve coping skills and develop healthy strategies to better manage emotional and behavioral problems.
As part of our day program, your child participates in structured therapeutic activities that include counseling and education to improve self-awareness, manage emotions and behavior, and learn new skills to enhance family communication. We are able to tailor your child's therapeutic program to his or her needs because of other specialized clinical services offered in our facility such as treatment for:
School Liaison
Our treatment approach also includes working with your child's school, the parent(s) and other outside resources to best identify and meet your child's unique needs. Our school liaison and educational staff will work with your child on issues such as:
- Returning to school
- Problem solving
- Time management
- Study skills
- Regulating moods such as depression and irritability
- Goal planning
