Autism Spectrum Program at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital
Our Tests, Treatments, and Therapies
Our treatment program works closely with the patient's family, school, or workplace to ensure an efficient and effective transfer of newly acquired skills. Family support will be provided through family therapy, education, and our "Autism Family Support Group." Aftercare is available to assist with ongoing skill development and successful reintegration back into the community. All therapy is focused on the unique needs of the autism spectrum population including movement and sensory opportunities.
We work closely with medical, therapeutic, and educational providers to put forth a continuum of quality care that includes an intensive outpatient treatment program, a partial hospitalization program, and inpatient service.
We are well equipped to work with patients who have other concurrent disorders such as eating disorders, self-injury disorder, chemical dependency, and obsessive-compulsive disorder or other anxiety disorders. Autism Spectrum Program works closely with the St. Alexius Medical Center's developmental pediatric program.
Our therapeutic modalities include:
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy and family support
- Small group therapy
- Social skills training
- Medication management
- Expressive therapy
- Modified school program/school liaison
- Case management
Our highly skilled team will design an individualized treatment plan based on the latest research and evidence-based protocols. We use a variety of behavioral and psychiatric interventions to assist patients in achieving optimal mental health and stability.
