About Us

The Center for Addiction Medicine offers a variety of treatment programs and services for adults, adolescents, and families  suffering from chemical dependency and other addiction disorders. This expansion of services builds on a 40-year history of providing alcohol and chemical dependency treatment in the community.

The belief of the Center is that an addiction - including alcohol, drug, internet, gambling, shopping/spending and sex - is a medical disorder which is the result of altered brain reward mechanisms and can be progressive in nature. If left untreated, addiction will usually result in psychological, physical, social, and spiritual deterioration, and can ultimately lead to premature death. Along the way, this deterioration can damage the individual's family, friends, and co-workers. The Center for Addiction Medicine is a safe, therapeutic environment that helps to stabilize and motivate patients for  their next intervention or treatment option. • Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital was the first hospital in the nation to receive Disease Specific Certification by the Joint Commission in four separate psychiatric specialties including chemical dependency.

• We offer a full continuum of treatment options including detoxification/stabilization, outpatient treatment such as partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP),  individual therapy through the outpatient group practice, and outpatient detoxification.
