Joint Commission Certifications at Alexian Brothers Health System
Certifications
Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, Alexian Brothers Medical Center and St. Alexius Medical Center have been awarded Disease-Specific Care Certifications in several specialties by the Joint Commission. These include:
- Chemical dependency
- Depression
- Eating disorders
- Self-injury
- Congestive heart failure
- Stroke
- Hip and knee replacement
- Acute myocardial infarction (heart attack)
Achieving certification signifies that the programs are meeting and/or exceeding national standards for quality and performance.
In 2008, both Alexian Brothers Medical Center and St. Alexius Medical Center received re-certification as a Primary Stroke Centers for their care management of stroke patients.
