St. Alexius Medical Emergency Department

The demand for emergency services at St. Alexius Medical Center has increased steadily in recent years as the medical center's service area, with a population of more than 600,000, has expanded. The emergency room will treat more nearly 50,000 patients in 2007. When the emergency department was expanded in 2004, it was built with the capacity to treat as many as 75,000 patients a year

Emergikids(SM), provides special emergency care for children. Physicians and nurses specially trained in pediatric emergency medicine staff the area and amenities include televisions and video players.  Emergikids is open from noon to midnight..

The emergency room features a spacious waiting room, large nursing/staff stations and a separate drop-off locations for ambulances and emergency medical services vehicles. Traffic flow around the St. Alexius Medical Center campus is enhanced by a perimeter road that circles the entire campus. Parking close to the emergency room, provides convenience for patients and their families.
