Personal Philosophy

"I believe that asking for help is the first step towards initiating the process of change.  I strive to provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment where clients feel listened to and comfortable exploring their personal stressors.  I encourage clients to utilize their strengths while providing them the tools in developing new skills.  I adapt my treatment approach based on the client’s needs but generally utilize Person-Centered and Solution-Focused therapies and evidenced based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also integrate art, play and humor in my sessions with children and adolescents to assist them in engaging in our therapeutic relationship.  My role as a therapist is to assist the client in effectively managing their symptoms and ultimately moving towards a healthy and meaningful life style.”
