Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health offers specialized programming and services that include:

Some disorders we treat are: depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), self-injury, personality disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD, school truancy and oppositional defiant disorder.

Our History

Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health opened its doors to the community in 1962 providing holistic and compassionate services to those with emotional problems or chronic mental illness in Chicago's northwest suburbs. Our staff of 70 specialized professionals works with over 2,500 clients every year offering psychosocial rehabilitation, case management, psychiatry, supportive living, vocational assistance, outpatient therapy, and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).

Our Quality

Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health recently completed a 3 day, 4 reviewer, random, unannounced audit conducted by DHS' Bureau of Licensure and Accreditation and the ASO (Administrative Service Organization). The results validated comprehensive and effective clinical programming, strong documentation practices, and dedication to the treatment of those who suffer from a mental illness. 

Alexian's solid documentation of services resulted in a score that is one of the highest in the state, and our "return" amount was less than one half of one percent of our total state annual billings. We continue to strive for the highest quality, compliance and effectiveness to ensure the best services are provided for those we serve.

Accreditation, Certification & Funding

Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health is accredited by Joint Commission and certified by Medicare and Medicaid. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and AllKids as well as other insurance company reimbursements. We also offer a sliding scale for residents of Wheeling and Palatine townships.  Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Heatlh is supported in part by United Way, Illinois Department of Human Services, Palatine Township and Wheeling Township.
